JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the monthly, quarterly and year-end accounting close processes and preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving certain reports to make sure financial controls are properly performed
  • Post and review journal entries related to assigned areas
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
  • Perform and document assigned controls as required by Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Perform accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to, booking journal entries, testing reports and reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • Research, explain and document variance explanations
  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies/procedures
  • Drive process and system improvements
  • Provide support and explanations as needed to other departments, internal audits and external auditors


REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Preferred Master's degree in accounting (MACC)
  • CPA License preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years related experience
  • Preferred experience at Big 4 accounting firm
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Adapt to changing responsibilities and workload
  • Effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Think creatively
  • Highly driven and self-motivated
  • Ability to work well independently and in groups
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Willingness to work overtime to meet deadlines
  • Advanced experience with MS Excel
  • Experience with SAP, Blackline and SQL is preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
