Sr. SCCM Engineer

SUMMARY

As a senior team member within the IT (Information Technology) organization, this role will lead the efforts of maintaining and enhancing the stability and reliability of JOANN's IT systems. A focus on project deliverables along with a mix of advanced support responsibilities will provide this team member with the opportunity to grow as a leader amongst peers. This position will influence the direction of JOANN's system implementations and advancements. This team member will be responsible for assisting with the training and mentoring other team members. This team member will be responsible for patch management for workstations and other infrastructure devices. Other job responsibilities will include creating, managing, and deploying applications and packages, creating and maintaining corporate images for user workstations and other IT infrastructure. This team member will be responsible for application and software packaging as well as building and maintenance of images. Strong working knowledge of SCCM to provide queries and reporting as needed, as well as maintaining the SCCM infrastructure. Team member will participate in collaboration with IT leadership and architecture teams as well as our information Security teams. Participation in 24 x 7 on-call support rotation is expected for this position. Responsibilities extend to the Store Support Center (SSC), 4 distribution centers and multi-channel retail practices through over 800 stores. The total user environment consists of over 20,000 team members.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
• Systems and Applications Design- Designs solutions which satisfy complex requirements. Ensures technical solution designs are consistent with departmental standards.• Systems and Applications Implementation- Implements hardware and software as required in support of projects and the existing production landscape. Executes unit tests in order to assure high quality of deliverables.• Systems and Applications Testing- In cooperation with other IT teams, designs and executives end-to-end tests that ensure solution design and implementation meet or exceed the documented solution requirements• Systems and Applications Support- Provides support for current production systems. Resolves problems and incidents in compliance with established resolutions SLAs. Determines and documents root cause of problems. Works to improve systems and processes to enforce simplicity, stability and efficiency
• Security- Helps to maintain a secure and stable environment through recommending ongoing standards and implementing secure solutions.

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

Systems integration experience, preferably with a large-scale ERP solution, In addition to technical expertise, knowledge of various productivity programs is expected (e.g. Office, Microsoft O365 Apps, Google Apps, Cloud Environments). Experience with large hybrid Windows and UNIX/Linux environments

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Education Minimum: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or related field
• Experience Minimum: 4+ years relevant professional experience
• Experience Preferred: 8+ years of experience in a large retail information technology environment, 3+ years of system design including various system integration technology; Supervisory experience
