Sr. Scientist, Discovery Analytical

Compensation Description

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $100,000 - $150,000 annually.

The Position

Arrowhead is seeking a senior analytical chemist to join the Discovery Analytical Chemistry team. The successful candidate will be tasked with developing analytical methods to support ongoing discovery and process development activities.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with discovery and product development teams to determine analytical requirements, develop phase-appropriate analytical methods to support discovery and development
• Interact effectively with Arrowhead cross-functional teams
• Communicate on a timely basis and collaborate closely on analytical method development with other functional groups, adapt to the changes
• Track progress against project plans, generate regular status updates, and communicate progress and issues to management
• Keep good documentation
• Be creative in problem solving; pay attention to the details; be flexible in prioritizing the workload and adapting to changes; be self-motivated

Requirements:

• PhD degree in analytical chemistry or biochemistry with a minimum of 2 years of experience, or Master degree with a minimum 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry
• Hands-on experience of using LC/MS, CE and HPLC experience covering a range of separation and detection types

• Open mind and wiling to learn new technology
• Experience working with both small and large molecules
• Experience with a wide range of analytical techniques
• In-depth understanding of analytical chemistry
• Understanding the drug discovery/development process
