Role Overview
As a crucial member of our Engineering (QA) team, you'll report directly to the Manager of Engineering (QA) and collaborate with a diverse team of on-site and remote software engineers to turn our Product roadmap into reality! The Sr. SDET role is a key driver of efficiency within the team, ensuring the quality and reliability of software products and processes.
Responsibilities
- You know what a good testing strategy looks like and how to get tests running efficiently and consistently.
- Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality. Catalog and maintain test scenario library.
- Maintain client-automated testing tools and increase automated test coverage.
- Collaborate with coworkers to enhance existing client automation frameworks, compare alternative testing approaches, and build new systems that help drive business results.
- Develop and enforce test coding patterns across the team.
- Increase efficiency by listening to development feedback and ensuring test framework, execution, and reporting is streamlined and useful.
- Monitor, investigate, and identify problems during the development & execution process, pair with client development to diagnose and test fixes.
- Contribute to the team's Agile effort by estimating, measuring and improving through active participation and providing feedback on quality issues.
- Coordinate and participate in discussions about holistic testing approaches with the development teams, so we have a balance of manual testing, security testing, UI automation testing, and unit testing coverage.
- Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities, including the QA Release Plans and checklists' execution.
- Influence strategic roadmaps from a quality engineering standpoint and manage tactical bi-weekly release operations
- Champion quality within the team and build a strong culture of high standards, integrity, and fun
- Review bug descriptions, functional requirements and design documents, incorporating this information into test plans and test cases.
Ideal Profile
- You are passionate about quality and quality-focused technologies for both software and data.
- 5+ years testing web, mobile, cloud-native and hybrid applications, and deep familiarity with open-source tools and workflows (e.g. Cucumber, Selenium, Cypress, JMeter, Robot)
- 3+ years of experience working within an agile workflow in a CI/CD environment
- 3+ years of experience collaborating with and working in cross-functional teams including product, user experience, project management, etc.
- 3+ years of professional experience as a QA lead
- Thorough understanding of the SDLC and tooling (GIT, branching/merging, build systems, CI tools and methodologies)
- Experience with API testing or integration (REST APIs)
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, be self motivated, and be goal oriented is essential to excel in this role
- Experience in developing, designing frameworks – Java/JavaScript/ Python/ Perl/ and web technologies.
- Significant experience automating repeated tasks and building test coverage with existing tools
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing. Ability to document and troubleshoot errors. Attention to detail. Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
- Comfort with ambiguity and a “no job too small” startup mentality
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science related fieldÂ
Target base compensation amount for this role outlined below. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts shown below.
$130,000—$150,000 USD
