Job Summary
The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, ground and communications, imagery programs, systems engineering and launch.
We are seeking a Senior Project Leader to be part of the National Reconnaissance Office's SIGINT Ground Systems Program Office (SG SPO) within the Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED). Customer responsibilities in this area include the development and delivery of a SIGINT baseline ground portfolio and guiding evolution of those systems to a fully integrated and resilient enterprise. In this position, you will be contributing to the development of the US Government's next-generation SIGINT Ground systems architecture, more specifically performing ground trades, and assessing architectures to facilitate the evolution of SIGINT ground capabilities to meet the needs of the future and supporting migration from processing hosted on unique equipment to cloud-based solutions.
This position requires 100% on site work in Chantilly, VA
What You'll Be Doing
  • Assist with the transition from processing on specialized hardware to the adoption of cloud-based solutions.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and leads teams to help guide next-generation SIGINT ground architecture development.
  • Serves as a senior technical advisor to US Government leadership in acquiring cutting-edge software applications designed for SIGINT mission and services, with the aim of deploying them within a commercial cloud environment.
  • Provide senior-level decision support on various Ground topics and facilitate improvements for the IC mission.
  • Leads and orchestrates teams of Aerospace subject matter experts in maturing new technologies, integrating new systems and sensors, and delivering a resilient, responsive ground architecture.
  • Collaborates with an agile team of acquisition professionals and industry software developers to rapidly field new software capabilities in a dynamic mission environment.
  • Proactively identifies new technologies and commercially available capabilities for integration into the framework.
  • Coordinates with enterprise stakeholders to ensure that user needs are properly understood and satisfied.
  • Partners with the US Government in formulating acquisition strategies for achieving its architectural vision and in pre-solicitation efforts and source selections to help the government achieve best-value solutions from industry.

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific, or related field from a recognized institution or equivalent relevant experience
  • 12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional US Government acquisition and engineering/scientific experiences, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience in one of more of the following domains: mission command and control or mission processing systems for space systems, constellation tasking and optimization, geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), signal intelligence (SIGINT), US Government acquisitions and/or systems engineering, or software development
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and orchestrate high-performing teams of engineering professionals.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel as necessary and flex work schedule to accommodate deadlines to support job requirements.
  • This position requires the ability to have and maintain a current and active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Advanced degree in imaging science, computer science/engineering, systems engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering or scientific field
  • Experience with agile-based software development at scale, agile testing with IV&V for federal contracts, commercial cloud environment, and DevOps pipeline implementation
  • Hands-on experience designing systems that operate in a cloud environment.
  • Experience with agile software development and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience with frequent operational deployments to both ground and on-orbit assets
  • Knowledge or experience with either proliferated or hybrid satellite architectures.
  • Proven experience in leadership encompassing training, motivating, and guiding junior staff to enhance workplace efficiency and foster their professional growth.
  • Knowledge or experience with Enterprise level testing and integration of complex systems
  • Expertise in RF remote sensing payloads and systems
