 Role and Responsibilities:


As our Software Development Manager, you'll be at the forefront of cutting-edge technology, responsible for:


-Developing and supporting real-time control systems

-Crafting, modifying, and debugging software for HMI, PLC, and real-time control in new machine hardware and features

-Leveraging source debuggers and visual development environments to create groundbreaking solutions

-Documenting application software specifications for internal communication, training, and user guidance

-Troubleshooting software issues to support product startups at customer facilities when necessary (travel under 20%)

-Collaborating with Electrical Design engineering to select and layout hardware, including controls, amplifiers, digital input/output cards, and more

-Working closely with control vendors to drive innovation in new and existing designs

-Keeping software projects on track in terms of cost and schedule, providing timely project status updates

-Engaging in cross-functional design teams throughout the entire product life cycle

-Promoting commonality and consistency within and across product lines

-Continuously improving system performance, increasing control system functionality, and optimizing capabilities

-Proactively maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees


Technical Skills:


To thrive in this role, you should have the following technical skills:


-Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C#, C++, Visual Basic, and XML. Experience with Visual Studio is a plus

-Strong experience in a real-time operating system environment

-Expertise in multi-axis servo systems design, motion control systems, and robotic interfaces

-Knowledge of sensor interfaces, IO, fieldbus, and related technologies

-Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical and software issues.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA’s):


We're seeking someone who:


-Excels in a collaborative team environment

-Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills 

-Is self-driven, highly motivated, and capable of working with minimal supervision

-Demonstrates competency in Microsoft Office products

-Has experience with integrating machine safety systems within software applications

-Is familiar with software quality systems and processes.


Required Experience and Education:


To qualify for this role, you should have:


-A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science

-A minimum of 8 years of experience with industrial process equipment

-3-5 years of programming experience, with a preference for experience in additive or subtractive material processing

-3-5 years of leadership experience, including team management.
