Position Specific Description

Senior Developer - Generative AI Dev Excellence: We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer to set standards and drive consistency across our development pods. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing best practices for standard operations, implementing cloud monitoring and alerting using AWS CloudWatch, and integrating with our ServiceNow instance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and document standard operating procedures for development practices across multiple pods
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch for application health and performance
• Integrate AWS CloudWatch with ServiceNow for incident management and response
• Mentor and upskill junior developers on established standards and practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development efforts with broader organizational goals
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and promote adoption of best practices
• Contribute to architectural decisions and design reviews

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in software development roles, preferably in a cloud-native environment
• Strong proficiency with AWS services, particularly CloudWatch, and monitoring/alerting solutions
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms
• Expertise in coding best practices, design patterns, and software architectures
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Proven ability to mentor and lead junior developers
• Passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date with industry trends

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of agile methodologies and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with infrastructure as code (CDK / CloudFormation)

Job Duties & Responsibilities• Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements, maintains, integrates, customizes and enhances existing or new systems• Applies appropriate Agile or development methodologies, system development lifecycles, tools, and technology• Automates the handoff of code releases from development to operations (DevOps)• Participates in the change management and service ticket management processes, including receiving, resolution monitoring and ensuring customer satisfaction• Leads projects when needed and builds strong working understanding of the solution being delivered• Ensures user satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of more complex problems• Designs, develops and tests experimental application work to test new ideas with bounded cost and time frames• Ensures that applications processes are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, security, compliance, environmental, and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation• Acts as liaison with regulatory agencies, vendors, and contractors on matters relating to computer systems as required• Defines metrics and monitors Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for systems being developed• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
