Sr. Software Engineer
Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Duck Creek Technologies LLC seeks a Sr. Software Engineer - Sr. Manager Level based out of our office at 1441 Main Street, Suite 400, Columbia, SC 29201. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position may require national/domestic travel up to 10% of the time. S/he will act as a technical lead for project team(s) or a solution or conformance review in the development of Agile stories. His/Her responsibilities will include the design, coding and/or configuring solutions for high complexity Agile stories across multiple domains or platform areas, and the creation of a conceptual design/architecture for large scale software solutions. The individual will provide guidance and mentoring to more junior software engineers. S/he will debug and resolve high complexity software bugs or issues, work independently, and find the real root cause and provide a fix without collateral damage. S/he will write automated unit and integration-level tests under his/her own direction, and s/he will follow development standards and effectively demonstrate technical solutions to other developers in code reviews.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires a bachelor's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, (Applied) Computer Science, Computer Applications, IT, Computer Engineering, or a related IT/computer field. The position also requires 8 years of progressively-responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, as a Software Engineer, or a related IT/computer position.
Additionally, the applicant must have the following number of years of professional experience with each of the following:
1. 8 years: Using Object-oriented design, Java or .NET development, Relational OLTP queries and Relational database design;
2. 8 years: Developing and implementing P&C Insurance software applications;
3. 8 years: Using XML/XSLT document design, JavaScript development, HTML5 & CSS;
4. 3 years: Serving as a leader with respect to an insurance industry domain software development team; and
5. 3 years: Developing and implementing Web APIs
