Sr. Software Engineer

We're hiring a Sr. Software Engineer

About this position

As a member of Plexus' software development team, you will contribute your knowledge and expertise in implementing new features, bug fixes and documentation. You will be expected to participate in Scrum processes such as estimating size of stories, grooming/refinement, stand-ups and retrospectives. You will also present, participate and provide feedback during architecture discussions, solution design and implementation planning. You will participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other developers. You will be expected to provide guidance and feedback to other developers to help mentor and guide newer developers in their career development.

As a Sr. Software Engineer with an emphasis on building best-in-breed back end solutions, your contributions will primarily be to independently identify and deliver software solutions spanning a specific product focus a multi-component system while remaining knowledgeable on the front end implications. You will be expected to help mature your team through documentation, mentorship, and technical acumen.

What you'll do

• You write quality code that is maintainable, testable and performance oriented.
• You create unit tests covering critical areas of new code. Maintain existing unit tests.
• You develop, document and maintain server side applications.
• You develop and execute against both short and long-term roadmaps, making effective tradeoffs between business impact, user experience, and a high-quality technical foundation.
• You understand how back end features and functionality work for a product or single system.
• You present, participate and provide feedback during architecture discussions, solution design and implementation planning.
• You participate in the process for developing an implementation plan for review with the architecture team.
• You lead and participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other developers.
• You provide guidance and feedback to other developers to help mentor, coach, and guide newer developers in their career development.
• You understand and articulate design patterns and how they apply to the larger scope of Plexus products.
• You contribute to development of storage solutions using SQL, NoSQL and in memory storage

You should have

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience.
• You have 4 years of experience in software development in a professional environment
• You have excellent knowledge of software development life cycle.
• You have experience contributing to building large scale software or enterprise software development experience.
• You have experience using JavaScript and using NodeJS framework (preferably Express).
• You have experience using Angular. Experience developing HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• You have experience in using some type of database (Relational, Non-Relational, Key-Value, Graph, etc.
• You have experience using a NoSQL database (MongoDB, Cassandra, CouchDB, etc.
