Sr. Software Engineer

Position: Sr. Software Engineer

As part of the ProCentric development team, you will be part of developing world class content management and delivery solutions to our largest client in the Hospitality industry including Luxury hotels and cruise lines

Your primary focus will be the development of server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a good understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Developing new and supporting existing client/server applications using LAMP and LEMP stacks.
• Building efficient, reusable and testable code.
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.
• Writing MySQL queries, monitoring and optimizing database performance.
• Working with APIs.
• Solving performance problems and troubleshooting back-end and front-end issues.
• Working with local development teams and teams in Korea.
• Mentoring others and growing the careers of those around them

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Have 5 years of experience in Software Engineering roles
• Basic understanding of distributed systems, operating systems, networking, databases, security, and analytics
• Proven full-stack programming skills in PHP, Node.js, Python, or related languages.
• Experience developing software in different programming languages, and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages, including but not limited to JavaScript, Python, PHP, and C/C
• Experience in backend development design and implementation
• Experience in responsive web front end / single page application development using modular JavaScript including apps targeted for mobile devices
• Has Frontend Experience, including JavaScript and CSS, comfortable working with frontend frameworks like React and JQuery
• Experience with all phases of software testing including test planning, functional testing, regression testing, code review, and design of new features.
• Linux knowledge and experience a must (CentOS and/or Ubuntu), FreeBSD experience a plus
• Android/iOS experience a plus
