Sr. Software Engineer

Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. We are designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities. This allows passengers a seamless intermodal journey that safely transports them to their final destination. The Intelligent Software team possesses knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, and testing. The Sr. Software Engineer develops projects for the R&D team, troubleshoots and resolves complex software problems, and creates solutions to novel problems using modern software tools.

This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.

• Evaluate and integrate new sensors into the perception software stack
• Develop infrastructure for robotic perception and localization
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues
• File actionable bugs and resolve bugs efficiently
• Follow best practices for research (documentation and reproducibility)
• May require up to 10% of domestic and international travel
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of five (5) years of software development and build infrastructure experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
• Significant experience with robotics such as ROS, etc.
• Experience creating and managing software
• Demonstrated experience with software tools
• Breadth of knowledge on a variety of techniques and tools in the areas of research and development
• Must be able to use source code management and Git
• Ability to script in C++, Python, and Bash
• Excellent software development process skills
• Must be familiar with source code analysis
• Hands-on, proactive, excellent at problem solving and have a strong desire to learn
