Sr. Software Engineer
Job Description
Overview
As a Senior Engineer of Commerce Services, you will take on a more advanced role in the design and development of complex software solutions. Your expertise in Java, JavaScript, microservices, and cloud platforms will be essential in building high-performance applications. In addition to your technical contributions, you'll mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and ensure code quality. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll address challenging business problems and recommend system enhancements for improved productivity and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex software solutions.
- Utilize Java, JavaScript, microservices, and cloud platforms for advanced application development.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct thorough code reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle complex business challenges.
- Recommend system enhancements to improve productivity and collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Java micro services development.
- Expert knowledge in Spring boot or related framework.
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Groovy etc.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and build tools (e.g., Webpack)
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience in mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
- Experience in front end development using React, Javascript and CSS is a plus.

Benefits
The annual base salary range is $90000 -$125000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
