Job Description

Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, has a new and exciting opportunity to add a Software Engineer to our team in Huntsville, AL. The candidate will be developing tools in Python supporting a team performing analysis on Missile Defense Systems (MDS). Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Missile Defense Systems (MDS) - Model and Simulation is desirable. The candidate must be able to navigate and work within the Linux OS Environment and possess good written and computational skills. Must possess the ability to clearly express ideas/concepts, perform as part of a team, and be capable of operating in a multi-tasking environment.

Qualified applicants will have excellent communication, organizational, and technical writing skills and take a proactive role to assure that responsibilities are completed on or ahead of schedule. The candidate must be able to work within a collaborative environment composed of Government, Prime Contractor, and Supporting Contractor personnel. A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software engineering, or other related technical field and more than 20 years in software development. This position requires a final DoD Secret Security Clearance to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another related technical field
• At least 20 years' experience with the following:
  • Python, Linux Shell Scripting, C++, C#, C, Java, FORTRAN, or MATLAB
• Experience with Linux environment and RHEL
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Software Automation tools and practices
• Experience with MDA MDS elements
• Familiarity with Objective Simulation Framework (OSF)
