Sr. Software Engineer (Hybrid - Flexible Options)

Broadridge is hiring! We currently have an opening for a Full Time /direct hire a Senior Mainframe Software Engineer to support our product development team, building one of our most groundbreaking products yet. In this position, you will be responsible for the design of the software as well as leading all aspects of the development, configuration, customization, unit testing, and maintenance services. You will manage a team of hardworking developers and help recruit additional members when needed. You'll collaborate with others across IT, Data, Product Management as well as external leaders in a variety of technology areas including data science and deep learning.

We are made up of high-performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed. This role is considered hybrid, which means you'll be assigned to a Broadridge office and given the flexibility to work remotely.

Responsibilities:

• In this role you will, investigate system and programming problems, propose solutions and recommend design improvements for increased efficiency. You'll handle sophisticated programming assignments and develop mainframe applications using COBOL / CICS /VSAM and DB2.
• You'll analyze product requirements and translate them into detailed system functionality by working with internal organizations and/or clients.
• You'll be updating graphic Logos, Fonts, Overlays, PDEFs, FDEFS, and PSEGS for client documents. Handling workload to completion in timeframes provided to meet client timelines.
• You'll develop architectural components in support of business requirements and standards for application development.
• You will build system and program test plans and procedures
• You will develop test data and performs the unit testing ensuring that the programs perform according to program specifications.
• You'll lead other team members in the coding, testing and debugging of application programs Special short-term projects may be assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent IT experience.
• 5+ or more years of experience writing and testing code using Cobol, CICS, VSAM and DB2.
• Technical abilities to include, but not limited to the following: Elixir, StreamWeaver, In Design, PDF and ACIF experience. Exstream Dialog, Cobol and JCL knowledge a plus.
• Validated interpersonal skills as well as analytical capabilities
