Have you ever wondered how a small team manages the infrastructure needed to host thousands of websites? Our software engineers build systems that automate services at scale. With technologies like custom Kubernetes controllers and cloud functions, we are able to automate the deployment, enhancement, and maintenance of our Kubernetes platform. Day to Day

• Building automated, scalable services and systems to power our growing infrastructure
• Collaborating with an agile team that is passionate about new technologies and delivering high quality and timely code
• Deploying monitoring and alerting systems to aid engineering and support efforts
• Diving into specific technology roadblocks and uncovering how we can make our platform more performant, resilient, and reliable
• Work with Kubernetes solutions across various cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, GCP
• Build and maintain APIs to aid in the management of our production environment
• Produce quality, testable and maintainable systems with fast feedback loops
• Build and enhance infrastructure for serving WordPress on thousands of servers
• Iteratively improve observability for globally distributed systems via metrics, monitoring and alerting
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for pushing code into production

Your Expertise and Passion

• Bachelors in CS or related field
• 4+ years software engineering experience
• Has worked on an agile team and is passionate about SRE principles
• Expertise working with Kubernetes and containerization
• Experience with public cloud infrastructure and building automation using their APIs.
• Understanding of infrastructure, horizontal scaling, self-healing architectures, service discovery, and all key aspects of observability
• Ability to work with and switch between multiple languages; eg. Python, Go, and PHP.
• Proficient with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Salt, Chef or Puppet
• Has an understanding of the common WordPress technology stack: Linux, Varnish, Apache/Nginx, MySQL, and PHP
• Has experience (or interest) in: configuration management systems, monitoring systems, computer network technologies, TLS certificates and Web Application Firewalls (WAFs)
