Sr. Software Product Manager, APIs & Digital Partnerships

Position Description
The Sr. Software Product Manager of APIs & Digital Partnerships is a strategic and detail-oriented product manager with the ability to define and direct the development of Zayo's APIs portfolio, own strategic customer-facing software partnerships and ensure an effortless customer experience through on-boarding and software integrations. They interface with Product Management, Sales, Product Software and internal stakeholders and Customers alike with outstanding communication skills. This role owns strategy, integrations extensibility, coordination and effective handoff to software development while overseeing the full project lifecycle and outcomes, acting as the scrum product owner to the project development team.
Responsibilities
- Develop the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Zayo's API toolset communicating both the business value and technical rationale behind your recommendations
- Cultivate a market of users
- Develop and manage roadmap lifecycle of Zayo's API Developer Portal
- Maintain and develop JSON collections and YAML files for API testing and documentation
- Responsible for customer service, making sure developers and end-users that access the APIs have a seamless customer experience
- Communicate the value proposition to an audience of developers, consumers, and business stakeholders
- Promote and launch new API sets to customers and internal end users alike
- Research and master market trends to determine the strategy and roadmap for the API program
- Act as Scrum Product Owner by owning a cohesive software implementation plan that directly supports the API Program end-to-end implementation of products in Zayo's Digital experience. Including but not limited to project design, assignment, and prioritization, ensuring every project adheres to the below requirements:
- Gathering business and technical requirements for new APIs and enhancements to existing APIs
- Maintain API documentation
- Develop test plans
- Monitor deployment
- Develop new wikis and transition wikis
- Store and share sample postman collections
- Monitor each stage of the API product lifecycle from development to testing, deployment, interactions/fixes/release management and depreciation with each appropriate development team
- Seek feedback and optimize the user experience in the ecosystem
- Analyze adoption and consumption data and get feedback from developers to identify necessary improvements and fixes
- Understand industry standards and plan for compliance, such as MEF LSO Sonata standards
- Understand the needs of our strategic accounts including their product lifecycle needs to develop a strategy, partner with, and maximize the benefits of our integrations and partnership
- Report on automation capabilities of strategic accounts
- Creating and maintaining; score cards, force to load models and career pathing for how to measure success across teams and individuals and align with the mission of the team.
- Work collaboratively with Development, product and other stakeholders to facilitate and Identify trends, patterns, and procedural opportunities that will improve overall business performance
- Reports program performance metrics internally, addressing low-performance areas in real-time
- Apply advanced analytical methods to data surrounding customer interactions to proactively identify improvements and socialize process improvement efficacy.
- Gain a deep understanding of the products and functional group business process at an accelerated pace and take responsibility for teaching self and asking thoughtful questions of management.
- Propose and document roadmap, priorities, design, and implementation strategies of specific customer software integrations ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals
- Be the main point of contact with stakeholders and requesters to identify requirements, dependencies, and timelines between technical and business teams as well as customer's roadmap
Qualifications
- 7+ years of Project Management, Product Owner and running an Agile development experience
- Proven experience managing highly productive teams and strong leadership skills, including coaching, team-building, and conflict resolution
- Deep technical development understanding in a microservice based architecture
- Strong business acumen as it pertains to the Telecommunications industry landscape
- Organizational and strategic management skills, including business, roadmap and resource planning
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage resources across multiple geographies
- Advanced communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences. (e.g. written, verbal, presentation)
- Extensive business acumen, technical knowledge, and industry experience encompassing one or more engineering, technology, and product domains.
- Advanced multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
- High performing results-oriented Project Management skills
- Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting with senior management and executive roles for internal and external partners.
- Good understanding of the company's purpose, policies, philosophy, and processes.
- Proficient in interpreting business and technical requirements and making decisions that are optimal
- Experience with the Salesforce / Force.com and Heroku platform
- Highly motivated with an eagerness to learn new technologies, be part of a collaborative team, and maintain a transformational and creative mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both technical and non-technical issues and resolve problems at all levels of the organization both internally and externally
- Proven ability to document highly complex processes, procedures, and/or policies.
- Expert level familiarity with google and office suites
- Passion for customer service and delivering an effortless user experience.
- Proven ability to work with stakeholders to identify improvements and implement change.
- High level of salesforce.com knowledge, including but not limited to object design and reporting structures, reporting and dashboards.
Base pay range: $92,000-$134,970 commensurate with experience.
