Job Description

We are looking for energetic, self-starting, detail-oriented technology SMEs for our high-profile applications that support the US Department of State. We have available positions for mid-to-senior-level Test Engineers, especially those with experience implementing Automated Testing tools and methodologies. These individuals will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the products and that the applications, and its enhancements, meet all functional and non-functional requirements. Major responsibilities include implementing thorough test plans and automated testing tools, collaborating with developers to achieve ongoing product improvements, evaluating the portfolio and recommending/implementing effective testing methodologies aligned for the customer's large range of applications and systems.

Duties will include:

• Implement efficient quality assurance processes, procedures, and tools.
• Develop and automate tests for software validation.
• Implement test strategies and automated testing tools to conduct continuous code reviews and automated debugging.
• Augment and collaborate with existing functional/manual testers.
• Work closely with developers, scrum masters, project managers, and product owners to identify weaknesses in application or system functionality.

• Identify, analyze, and create detailed records of problems that appear during testing, such as software defects, bugs, functionality issues, and output errors, and work directly with software developers to find solutions and develop retesting procedures.

• Assess and evaluate code and performance to validate quality levels, ultimately determining that the application meets major architectural requirements (such as scalability, performance, security controls, etc.).

• Provide frequent feedback to developers, including recommendations for improvements, evaluation of problems, potential solutions, and discussion of further test requirements.

• Implement enhanced and targeted testing methodologies and technologies to address application or system weaknesses.
• Writing test plans and test cases for each product.
• Creating effective quality-check procedures to ensure peak performance of every application and system.
• Document and monitor testing outcomes; establish next steps and approach to remedy issues.

Required qualifications will include:

• Minimum 7+ years of specialized experience.
• Experience in software development and automated testing.
• In-depth knowledge of engineering and product design.
• Attention to detail and extensive problem-solving skills.
• Experience with testing tools such as Selenium, Apache, etc., and project management tools such as Jira.
• Experience working independently and within small teams.
• Experience estimating level of effort (LOE) for assigned work/tasks.
• Ability to support multiple development teams when necessary.
• Experience must include both automation and manual software QA testing with enterprise-level web and client/server applications.
• Experience in all phases of the SDLC, including requirements analysis, test planning, test case design, and test execution.
• Thorough understanding of QA processes and methodologies, including: Functional, Integration, System, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing and defect tracking.
• Experience in writing test scripts and creating detailed test plans, test cases from use cases and requirements documentation.
• Experience with JAVA, SQL, .Net, SharePoint, PowerApps, and OpenSource solutions.
