Sr. Solution Architect

Job Description Summary

Reporting to the BD Director, Platform Solutions & Services, the Sr. Solution Architect for Platform Delivery shall manage BD's application platform architecture, design, governance, and oversight of delivery across the commercial area. In addition, this role is responsible for effectively managing application build and test activities for successful delivery of BD's information technology projects by our managed service providers. This includes responsibility for establishing application and system project landscape requirements to meet BD's SDLC and validation standards. A successful candidate is expected to have expertise in information technology architecture, project estimation, managing the performance of strategic partners, project finance, working across technology domains and assessing information technology operational impact on support organizations. The Sr. Solution Architect for Platform Delivery is expected to foster collaborative working relationships with members of BD's TGS Business Partner and Platform Solution & Engineering organizations for the purposes of project demand intake, shaping and solution delivery.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for BD's application platform architecture, design, governance, and oversight of delivery across the commercial area for the projects in our portfolio
• Provide subject matter expertise for project shaping and delivery processes and activities
• Lead project by understanding the requirement with business partners and solutioning by collaborating with delivery teams and strategic partners
• Effectively oversee and govern the strategic supplier application build and test activities for successful delivery of BD projects
• Ensure appropriate hand-off of solutions to the IT operations teams at the end of each project
• Apply technology platform standards and architecture to develop high level solution design and effort estimates for business projects
• Responsible for establishing application and system project landscape requirements to meet SDLC and validation standards
• Ensure adherence to BD's Operating Model and process standards for project intake, shaping and execution
• Assist TGS Business Partners to integrate technology strategy with business project portfolios during initial project shaping and estimation
• Assist platform engineering and architecture teams with maintaining and socializing technology roadmaps and standards
• Develop and improve processes, tools and mechanism for effectively managing project shaping and delivery activities
• Foster collaborative working relationships with members of BD's TGS Business Partner and Platform Solution & Engineering organizations
• Mentor other members of the Platform Delivery team

Requirements:

• Minimum of 15 years experience implementing integrated system processes, architectures and solutions
• Minimum 10 years experience working in the order to cash area in ECC or S/4
• Minimum 7 years experience working in integrating solution with 3rd party front end tools.
• Minimum 7 years experience effectively managing 3rd party vendor and partner consultants / contractors
• Minimum 7 years experience managing global enterprise information technology programs and projects
• Minimum 7 years experience of working in Pricing and Intercompany scenario with knowledge of financial aspects of postings.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, related field or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrated experience effectively managing collaborative relationships with peer / stakeholder groups within a matrixed organization
• Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and business process knowledge required
• Good organizing, planning & priority setting skills for timely deliverables.
• Ability to align and connect business strategies and benefits with technology solutions
• Ability to communicate complex IT challenges in a non-technical and simplified manner
• Ability to effectively communicate business requirements to other technology teams
• Excellent presentation and communication skills

Preferred skills

• SAP ECC or S/4 certification is an added advantage
• Domain experience in Life Science Industry is preferable
