Sr. Solutions Engineer, Space Systems

Founded in 2014, SpinLaunch has developed a new way to get to space. With backing from industry leaders in venture capital and engineering including Airbus, Google, and Kleiner Perkins, SpinLaunch is rapidly scaling its team to deploy its technology to market. At SpinLaunch, you will help change the landscape of the rocket launch industry and be an integral and unique part of a close-knit team of individuals operating in a high energy environment. We are seeking to hire a key player to bring finance expertise, insight, leadership, vision, and company building mentality to our growing organization.

Your Mission on the Team:

• Create and mature new products, services, and mission concepts that leverage SpinLaunch technologies
• Win over new customers and strategic partners with your passion for space and SpinLaunch technologies
• Operate at the intersection of the engineering, business development, and program management teams to generate new customer opportunities
• Experience with developing space mission concepts, including designing constellations and orbits, and developing mission requirements
• A track record of creating new, custom, and innovative solutions to address customer needs
• A strong desire to work with both the business development and engineering teams to bring new products and services to market
• An open and flexible mindset with an eagerness to work in a dynamic and high energy environment with passionate colleagues
• A desire to apply your talents and skills in the space industry

The Skills You Bring to the Team:

• Experience with developing space mission concepts, including designing constellations and orbits, and developing mission requirements
• A track record of creating new, custom, and innovative solutions to address customer needs
• A strong desire to work with both the business development and engineering teams to bring new products and services to market
• An open and flexible mindset with an eagerness to work in a dynamic and high energy environment with passionate colleagues
• A desire to apply your talents and skills in the space industry

Strongly Desired:

• 5+ years experience in designing satellite constellations and orbits
• Strong systems engineering skills and experience in developing mission architectures and requirements
• 5+ years experience in the space sector (launch or satellites) or adjacent markets that are served by space (telecom, precision agriculture, transportation, etc)
• Experience with developing space missions, preferably in multiple areas (i.e. communications, navigation, remote sensing, space mobility, etc.)

Years of relevant experience: 5+ Years

Education required/preferred: BS, MS or higher preferred

Certifications required/ preferred: Familiar with STK or similar a plus

Travel: 25%

ITAR Requirements

SpinLaunch is required by the U.S. Government to comply with various space technology export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  All applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident (“green card holder”) as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
