We are looking for a Sr. Stack Engineer to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. This role will report to Director, Development Engineering and based in San Jose, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and support the execution of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell related qualification testing, interpret and present results to key stakeholders.
  • Support Bloom Energy SOFC future product development projects.
  • Support new SOFC component and raw material development projects for Interconnects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team including vendors and key stakeholders to manage continuous improvement projects that impact product quality and manufacturing yields.
  • Perform experiments to evaluate the material characterization for developing new Interconnect materials.
  • Perform Stack autopsies & Failure analysis of failed components to investigate root cause.
  • Interface with testing team to timely execute stack tests and ensure all required documentation are completed.
  • Define and Develop Qualification Plans and required test protocols to support new product and process qualification.
  • Use data analysis tools like JMP and advanced statistical analysis tools to compile the results and derive conclusions.
  • Support SOFC component level analysis for stack engineering team.
  • Assist other business critical stack sustaining projects as needed.

Experience, Education, and Professional Background:

  • B.S. Engineering degree in relevant discipline (Chemical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering preferred).
  • 2+ years of relatable experience.
  • Experience working on data analysis (Advanced Excel, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.
  • Knowledge using multiple problem-solving methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 8D, etc.)
  • Must possess strong problem-solving, communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to excel in a complex, fast paced, and dynamic environment.
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to the highest standards of excellence and integrity.
  • Desire to take on challenges head on and embrace adversity.
  • Team player that works well with cross functional team
