What you'll do:

• Be hands-on and deliver Media tech solutions for larger/complex projects and demonstrate expertise in tech used by the Media Ads squad.
• Innovate, develop, and maintain our cutting-edge Consumer Media Ads services by integrating http://Realtor.com sell side of Ad Business with Google GAM and tackling present challenges while preparing for the future.
• Understand different ad exchanges, IAB standards, and industry best practices to implement client/server side solutions, and communicate ad strategy and architecture approach across squads by providing insightful ad performance reporting and analysis of engineering trade-offs.
• Identify opportunities to develop internal software products & tools to help increase efficiency, automation, and systems monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with a vibrant community of Ads Ops, Product Managers, Analysts, Scientists, and Engineers, fostering a dynamic environment.
• Master the full-stack, backend-for-frontend problem space, crafting a scalable platform that empowers our frontend teams to thrive by designing and building a microservice-based architecture..
• Inspire and lead by example, championing best practices, enhancing quality, and driving speedy delivery.

What you'll bring:

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a focus on web application development using microservices architecture.
• Autonomous: Ability to lead project design and implement major system components, making critical decisions in line with overall project goals and organizational priorities.
• Strong Programming Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used in web application development, such as ReactJS/NextJS, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.js, Dart.
• Strong understanding of ad tech stack, and relevant ad server and ad integration experience (DFP and analogous ad server technology, programmatic capabilities/header bidding, ad performance optimization)
• Strong background in building single-page applications and implementing progressive web applications and service workers.
• As an expert in client-side JavaScript, CSS/SaSS, and HTML, you bring a deep understanding of front-end technologies.
• Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with cloud-based architectures, development, deployment, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and understanding of cloud-native practices and scalability.
• Distributed Systems: Experience in building scalable, resilient and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Communication and Leadership: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate and lead effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Architecture Design: Ability to design scalable, performant, and secure microservices architectures that align with business requirements.
• Testing and DevOps: Knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
• Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to analyze complex technical problems, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions while considering trade-offs and impacts on system performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Bonus - GraphQL Experience: Proficiency in designing and implementing APIs using GraphQL, including schema design, resolver functions, and handling data fetching and mutations efficiently.
