Job Description

Lightmatter builds chips for artificial intelligence computing. Our architecture leverages the unique properties of light to enable fast and efficient inference and training engines. If you're a collaborative engineer or scientist with a passion for innovation, solving challenging technical problems, and doing impactful work like building the world's first optical computers, consider joining the team at Lightmatter

The person in this role will be a test team member working on planning, debugging, and developing manufacturing and characterization test programs for next-generation Lightmatter products. The team will be creating product-specific test hardware, software, and diagnostics capabilities to ensure compliance, compatibility, and test coverage for Lightmatter's products from product definition through qualification and high-volume manufacturing. It also involves engaging with design and platform engineering teams in addition to the supply chain organization to influence the definition of the product and to leverage the capabilities of the ecosystem from a testing perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Lead test strategies and specifications efforts for our highly integrated photonics-based AI platform and our photonics chiplet communication fabric
  • Establish manufacturing test coverage metrics and establish yield expectations and monitoring mechanisms
  • Provide test solutions for integrated digital/analog/photonic devices
  • Work closely with OSATs to ensure test specifications are being met
  • Drive post-silicon activities from bring-up through production
  • Collaborate with the Design-For-Test (DFT) team early in the design process.
  • Develop a characterization methodology of critical circuit functionality.
  • Develop initial product qualification (Quality/Reliability) test and execution plan
  • Establish metrics and methodology to characterize and ensure reliable product operation at customer sites over the expected product lifetime

Requirements

  • BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering (or other related fields)
  • At least 8 years of industry experience and at least 5 years of mixed signal test experience
  • Experience bringing products from first silicon to production on Automated Testing Equipment
  • Experience creating and maintaining test programs on commercial testers like Terdayne Ultra-Flex or Advantest 93k
  • Experience working with design to communicate test needs and limitations.
  • Experience identifying key functionality issues from test data, and driving the collaboration with the design team to implement improvements.
  • Experience testing digital and analog circuits for high-volume manufacturing
  • Experience writing test methods using C/C++
  • Experience with high-speed signaling, transmission line characteristics, and the impacts on test data/results.
  • Experience with Jitter measurements, with JBERT for high-speed SERDES a plus.
  • Experience testing power rail sensitivity and determining circuit operating margins.
  • Experience with strategies to improve test time and quality
  • Strong scripting and/or programming skills
  • In-depth understanding of industry standards and practices in analog and digital test, including JTAG/BSCAN, at-speed Scan-ATPG, and MBIST
  • Highly competent in debugging ATPG patterns and MBIST setup/patterns either in a post-silicon environment

Preferred Requirements

  • Test board or probe card design experience
  • Experience with photonic testing

Benefits

  • Comprehensive Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • 401k matching
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Generous Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
  • Paid Family Leave
  • Short Term & Long Term Disability
  • Training & Development
  • Flexible, hybrid workplace model
  • Commuter/Transit Benefits
  • Stock Option Plan

Base Compensation Range: $170,000 - $210,000. In accordance with the Colorado, California and New York law, the range provided is Lightmatter's reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. Actual pay will be based on several factors including work experience, location and education
