Sr. Staff Scientist

As a Sr. Staff Scientist, you will work on a team driving efforts to design, develop, evaluate, and support new and existing life science products. You will draft and implement test strategies to verify and validate product designs and generate data to support product development and customer applications. You will work closely with the Life Science group R&D scientists, engineers, and software developers in addition to marketing, program management, and customer support teams.

How You`ll Make An Impact:

• Develop the next generation of products and solutions for Life Science customers in the fields of western blotting, blot and gel imaging, and dyes for flow cytometry applications.
• Communicate the broader impact of design features, test methods, and results as a key member of cross-functional development teams.
• Follow new scientific trends and customer needs in order to contribute to the strategic development of Life Science instrumentation and reagents products.
• Provide training, guidance, and assistance to team members regarding protocols, assay design, instrument operation, data analysis, and interpretation.
• Willingness to provide supervision/mentorship to junior level personnel.
• Interact effectively & build successful relationships with members of the R&D team, and with other Bio-Rad stakeholders (Marketing, Engineering, Software, Manufacturing, Technical Support).
• Interact effectively & build successful relationships with external Bio-Rad collaborators while acting as the point person for internal communications.

What You Bring:

• Education: Ph.D. in a life science discipline such as Biochemistry, Molecular/Cell Biology or a related field
• Work Experience: 10 or more years of post-graduate experience in an industry or Pharma environment
• In-depth knowledge and direct experience with methods, instrumentation and software used in protein biochemistry, including blotting, imaging and analysis.
• In-depth knowledge and direct experience in creating, executing and analyzing data from complex multi-parameter flow cytometry experiments.
• Knowledge of the product development lifecycle including planning, feasibility, development, verification, and validation testing.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $149,000 to $204,800 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
