Job Description Summary

Join an advanced technology team developing innovative medical systems. The Monitoring Solutions business develops technology that profoundly impacts the healthcare industry for the betterment of clinicians and patients. This role will serve as a leader in product development, contributing to all of the stages of medical device product design and development - product conception, product definition, design, implementation, testing, validation, manufacturing, distribution, and post-market support. As part of cross-functional teams, you will be part of the leadership team for projects in the area of Patient Monitoring products and systems within a complex business, developing advanced technology for clinical patient monitoring

Job Description

  • Lead product development activities across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement new products and product improvements, defining the technology and product roadmaps, and ensuring program alignment with those roadmaps
  • Projects include development the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). Technologies include Microsoft Azure IoT, Software containerization technologies such as Kubernetes & Docker, Agent technologies for embedded devices, client apps, and enterprise software
  • Work with and influence cross-functional teams to refine requirements, reflecting user needs, risk mitigations, standards compliance, and regulatory compliance
  • Develop, assess, and report on subsystem interactions and their effects on product functionality, cost, and quality
  • Make design recommendations to improve reliability and resolve conflicting requirements Implement reliability growth and/or qualification tests to validate predictions
  • Lead and optimize test methodology and execution, refine and automate test procedures; prioritize and schedule testing
  • Deliver and incorporate feedback results into new hardware, software, and service specifications
  • Identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvements and drive continuous process improvements to address those opportunities
  • Drive creation and adoption for engineering standards
  • Create and support the stewardship of intellectual property

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Science
  • Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in any of the following: System Design, Subsystem designs including hardware and/or software.
  • Understanding of system design concepts and subsystem interactions and interfaces.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Team leadership experience and demonstrated facilitation and negotiation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated technical leadership capability working on a product development team.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Biomedical, or Systems Engineering or other closely related fields.
  • 10 years of engineering experience in a related field
  • Experience authoring design requirements and associated verification test procedures.
  • Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging system design problems.
  • Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets.
  • Global project experience.
  • Effective team player and contributor with solid communication skills in interfacing with both team members and management.
  • Experience working in the regulated medical device industry or knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Medical Products and their operational environment.
  • Able to work with limited or ambiguous information and able to develop solutions in response to changes in business climate.
