Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 / year

Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sr. Systems Administrator to join our Managed Services team. As a Sr. Systems Administrator, you will not only play a key role in managing IT solutions for our clients but also take on a technical leadership role focused on mentorship, coaching, and team development. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a passion for continuous learning, and the ability to inspire, motivate and work with the Technical Team Lead to help develop a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

What you'll be doing as an IT Senior Systems Administrator

Service Delivery:

  • Manage IT systems within the framework of managed services and service level agreements
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution of client issues and requests
  • Perform root-cause analysis and advanced technical troubleshooting
  • Tracking support team metrics and making recommendations as necessary
  • Timely client engagement and vendor management

Team Mentorship and Coaching:

  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team members
  • Foster a collaborative and learning-oriented team culture
  • Conduct real-time knowledge-sharing and training to assist with service issues

Performance Optimization:

  • Work closely with team members to optimize IT systems for performance and efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, business security and implement best practices
  • Produce and maintain detailed technical and training documentation
  • Remaining current on industry trends and emerging technologies

Typical week: 60% team escalation support, 20% client server/network support, 10% overflow coverage for team lead, 10% meetings and training.

You are a great Sr. Systems Administrator candidate if you have

  • Bachelor's Degree, in IT/Business related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years supporting current Windows server technologies, enterprise email systems, network infrastructure, and line-of-business applications. Specifics include:
    • Detailed knowledge of current supported Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems
    • Management of Microsoft Azure, Office365 and Exchange Server
    • Management of core network domain services, such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
    • Management of Firewall, Switch and Wireless Access Points (i.e. Fortinet, SonicWall, Cisco Meraki, and HP/Aruba)
    • Experience with Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, Microsoft Windows RDS environments or other VDI technologies is preferred
    • Experience with multi-site LAN/WAN connectivity (i.e. VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and dynamic and static routing)
    • Experience with current virtualization technologies (i.e. VMWare, Hyper-V and SAN Storage Management)
    • Experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions (i.e. StorageCraft and Veeam)
  • Ability to maintain composure and deliver successful resolutions to high-impact service scenarios
