Job Description:
Description: The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, development, documentation, implementation, training and support of systems in response to the Organization's needs.
Typical Duties:
- Initiates and performs the Root Cause Analysis of any technical and application problems.
- Participates in routine and unplanned server or application maintenance. This includes physical server and/or appliance installation.
- Collaborates with multiple departments to determine technology needs and define SLAs.
- Participates in 24x7 support team as needed. On-call rotation to be expected.
- Documents and maintain detailed working knowledge of any software packages and applications.
- Documents in detail all information regarding incidents and requests in ServiceNow, as well as accurate documentation of inventory and software process flows within knowledge base.
- Responds to problems, requests, and tasks via ServiceNow per Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards.
- Provides analysis for hardware-software infrastructure for various special projects.
- Adheres to daily and monthly metrics as defined by the Director. (ED: initial response, support turnaround time, customer service survey, etc.).
- Serves as an escalation point for others on the server team.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or equivalent experience.
- 8 plus years of experience in building and maintaining server platforms running Microsoft Windows operating systems and Linux.
- 8 plus years of experience in implementing and maintaining large Microsoft Active Directory environments.
- 5 plus years of experience in building and managing Microsoft Exchange email systems.
- 5 plus years of experience in creating and distributing group policies.
- 5 plus years of experience in Enterprise VMware ESXi environment.
- 3 plus years of experience in Virtual Desktop environments (VMWare Horizon).
- 5 plus years of experience in managing Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) services.
- Management of file shares, print queues, users, and groups for Windows Servers.
- Experience with data communication protocols (i.e., TCP/IP).
- Experience with troubleshooting unusual system behavior.
- Experience translating and documenting complex clinical and business workflows.
- Current VMWare or Microsoft Administration certifications are a bonus
