Sr. Systems Administrator
Job Description
Duties:
- Team orientation taking lead on critical projects while working well as part of a group and providing technical expertise.
- Work as a member of IT team to provide day to day support on all systems related request fulfillment, incident response, documentation, and follow-up.
- Provide 8 x 5 support of the IT systems infrastructure environment (Servers, Storage, Virtual, etc.).
- Design and deployment of new technologies or upgrade existing capabilities as assigned.
- Design and continuous monitoring and response to alarms for all systems equipment using a variety of tools for incident handling and remediation.
- Changes in approved and scheduled maintenance windows (i.e. software upgrades, hardware replacement, migrations, etc.)
- Design and administration of a VMware virtual infrastructure which consists of two critical production environments and multiple regional clusters.
- Design, deploy, manage, and tune distributed systems and SAN environments and plan for future expansion.
- Design and tune Active Directory environment; manage access to systems and equipment, design group policies, monitoring general replication health, DNS and DHCP
- Design, manage, and tune configuration of O365/Azure environment.
- Manage business continuity plans and to safeguard the recovery of critical business processes should a disruption to the services occur.
- Manage vendor relationships to identify sustainable strategic partnerships, manage costs, and verify contractual service-level agreements are delivered
- Create and update technical documentation to maintain an accurate system of record, and provide departmental training materials for new systems and processes
- Participate in departmental budgeting and goal setting process to lay out long-term and short-term project priorities, identify new technologies to improve upon operational capabilities, and leveraging vendor relationships to secure competitive costs
- On-call rotation as needed cycled between the Systems, Network and Security teams.
- Maintain equipment inventory database (quantity, sparing, part numbers, serial numbers, etc.) on high value and critical components.
- Occasional travel (10%) for onsite support, datacenter build-out/expansions, or for training as needed.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be able to work during normal business hours, and assist with changes as necessary during maintenance windows as scheduled for nights and weekends. Hybrid work environment with a mix of in-office and remote work.
- Expert understanding of information technology and information security practices and trends.
- Ability to run concurrent projects while maintaining day to day operations
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-departmental communication
- Comfortable working independently and being able to make decisions that add value to the business without direction from above
- Ability to work in a high achievement environment with a strong work ethic
- Expert understanding of Microsoft technologies (O365, SCCM, AD, Azure AD)
- Expert understanding of server administration (Windows 2012/2016/2019/2022)
- Expert understanding of Virtualization technologies (VMware vCenter, ESXI 7.0)
- Strong understanding of Storage technologies (EMC Unity SAN's)
- Strong understanding of Server hardware technologies (Dell PowerEdge)
- Strong understanding of Storage and backup technologies (Rubrik)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of Security best practices.
- Understanding of Linux, Ubuntu, Centos operating systems
- Understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, OSI Model, and SAML (Okta).
- Familiar with ISO 27001/2, SOC2, PCI, HIPPA, and Sarbanes-Oxley processes.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis in Excel and Visio
- A knack for grace under pressure and a sense of urgency that puts the customer first
- Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment
Education and Experience:
- College bachelor's degree or trade schools preferred or equivalent work/life experience
- Minimum 8+ years IT experience with at least 6+ years systems background
- Multiple professional level certifications a plus (MS MCSA/MCSE/MCITP, VM VCP/VCAP, SANS, ISC2, etc.)

Compensation
Compensation for this role includes a base salary between $80,000 and $108,00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus incentive based upon individual and company performance, and will receive an equity grant upon hire and annually, moving forward.
