Sr. Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer who is detail-oriented, proficient with technologies and hardware, and who flourishes in high-pressure environments. This role provides analysis, development, and operational support of servers, storage, virtualization, and networking solutions, including defining, analyzing, creating, and supporting new services or solutions, modification and development of new functionality (either as enhancements or as green-field development within an infrastructure ecosystem), system integration, testing, maintenance, monitoring, and operational oversight of assigned solutions and services, independently or in cooperation with other technology teams, to advance business objectives.

Successful engineers should have good communication and collaboration skills, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills, and extensive knowledge of data laws. Ideal candidates will also have experience in project management and giving professional presentations.

Responsibilities:

• Performs and leads complex infrastructure project assignments.
• Plan, design, build, and support IT infrastructure technologies and services, following operational and security best practices and standards
• Applies technical knowledge to operate, administer and support infrastructure or software platforms and user groups of moderate to advanced complexity.
• Installing and maintaining operating environments.
• Monitoring these operating environments.
• Responding effectively and speedily to any problems.
• Maintaining a professional demeanor with clients and colleagues.
• Providing training and support.
• Ensuring operating environments stay safe and secure.
• Updating any software and hardware where necessary.
• Documenting all reported malfunctions and actions taken in response.
• Provide Infrastructure architecture support, contributing to the design, deployment and configuration for Microsoft Products, AWS, and Office 365
• Implements end-user technology, enterprise infrastructure, applications or services of moderate to advanced complexity, partnering with other business or IT engineering teams on more complex solutions.
• Plan, research, evaluate, design and analyze performance of complex infrastructure systems.

Requirements:

• VMware virtualization platform e.g. HA, FT, DRS, SDRS, Rules, VLAN, VMDKs, Datastores, Clusters, Snapshots, Cloning, Host Profiles, Scalable Architectures etc
• Primary focus for products and professional services is as follows:
• Virtualization - VMWare, Kubernetes
• Data Protection - Rubrik, Cohesity, Veeam, CommVault
• Storage - Pure Storage, NetApp, Tintri, HP ( & Nimble), Dell,
• Servers - Cisco, HP, Dell, SuperMicro
• Cloud - Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Office 365
• Systems Security - Micro segmentation with VMWare NSX
• The primary vendors we work with include: VMWare, Cisco, Pure Storage, NetApp, Rubrik, Veeam, AWS, Microsoft (& Azure)
• Experience with handling critical incidents by demonstrating linear & logical troubleshooting approach so that organizational SLA's can be met.
• Hands-On experience with deployment, administration and troubleshooting of below :
• VMware ESXi 6.5 / 7.X
• VMware VCenter 6.5 / 7.X
• VMware vRealize Automation (vRA),VMware vRealize Operations (vROPS)
• VMware Horizon VDI,VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM)
• Hands-On experience with Capacity (Cluster and Storage), Performance and License Management of VMware Infrastructure.
• Hands-On experience of deployment of above mentioned technologies of diverse Hardware Platforms HP Blade / Standalone / Cisco UCS/ C7000 Enclosure / Synergy, Dell, Nutanix etc. in Data Centers.
• Experience in managing storage solutions in (Pure, Tinttri, 3PAR ) for large enterprises
• Expertise in provisioning and configuration of various host in SAN & storage end with Nimble and Purestorage experience
• Configuration of new storage arrays and migration of disks
• Experience in installing/configuring/troubleshooting storage technologies such as HP 3 par and Nimble, with backup technologies
• Experience in SAN firmware upgrades and configuring, maintenances and trouble-shooting the Fabric environments
• Well-versed in Zoning and Provisioning the LUNS to various Operating system
• Experience with Data Migration, Decommissioning, Switch Integration & Fabric merging
• Knowledge in backup and archive technologies; Rollbacks
• Knowledge in managing SAN's in various operating systems including various flavors of AIX, Windows , Linux , Unix, VMWare
• Knowledge in power shell scripting and in depth understanding of Windows storage architecture
• Experience with windows storage stack, Multi path I/O (MPIO) Framework; Microsoft device-specific module DSM
• Knowledge of cloud storage
• Experience configuring and running automated software and server deployment tools (e.g. Terraform, Windows PowerShell, Windows DSC, Ansible, Octopus Deploy)
• Knowledge of managing hardware related activities like Firmware / Network Card / HBA Card Upgrades, RAID Management, Array Controllers - using HP, Dell and Nutanix proprietary management tools e.g. HP OneView, HP ILO, Dell Open Manage, Dell iDRAC etc.
• Knowledge of using PowerCLI and PowerShell scripting technologies to perform day to day administrative activities.
• Experience of creating Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Architecture, Audit & Compliance reports / documents in ITSM Tools e.g. JIRA / Confluence / SharePoint.
• Experience with IT Service Management tools e.g. JIRA for Incident, Change, Problem and Release Management.
• Experience of taking initiatives / leads on building / proposing solutions for automating redundant activities, optimizing & consolidating existing infrastructure.
• Should be able to support IT organization off hours / weekends during critical incidents / planned activities.
