Sr. Systems Engineer (5195)

As Sr. Systems Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the design, documentation, build, test, implementation, and support of core images and troubleshooting technical issues with the goal to make an impact across the federal government. Our MCS team is responsible for providing critical engineering, IT troubleshooting, and infrastructure management and you’ll have a critical role in ensuring user availability.

What you’ll do:

• Use tools, equipment, and procedures for repairing computers and peripheral devices
• Use initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines
• Provide advance proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems
• Provide advance proficiency level Visio, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
• Be responsible for providing recommendations on potential security, speed and/or system enhancements for the desktop environment
• Resolve problems associated with application support, password resets, and providing tier 1 and 2 support to end users
• Manage and coordinate direct customer interactions from incoming calls, walk-up’s, emails, support calls, and via third-party

What you’ll need to succeed:

• A minimum of 7 years of Systems Engineering experience
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
  • User account creation
  • Basic AD understanding
• Experience with VMWare products
  • VMware vSphere
  • VMware Horizon
  • Installation and configuration
  • Troubleshooting
  • VDI image creation and maintenance
• Experience with Microsoft Windows 10 or newer
  • Installation and configuration
  • Troubleshooting
• An MCSE 2012/2016/2019 certification
• An active TS/SCI
• Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to commute to Rosslyn, VA.
• A passion for troubleshooting all desktop errors and provide support and maintenance for the end-user desktop experience including hardware and software.
