Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage Linux-based systems and applications in both physical and cloud environments.
  • Architect, configure, and troubleshoot Linux servers, ensuring high availability and scalability.
  • Implement best practices for system security, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and regular security updates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance and efficiency.
  • Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Monitor system health, identify issues, and proactively implement solutions to mitigate risks and prevent downtime.
  • Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and resource optimization for Linux infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering skill development within the team.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience (5+ years) working as a Linux Systems Engineer, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Expertise in Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.) including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in administration and lifecycle management of MySQL and RabbitMQ.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl, etc.) and automation tools for system administration tasks.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, security principles, and system monitoring tools.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Proxmox) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Certifications such as RHCE, Linux+, or equivalent would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure management would be advantageous.
