Everything about the experience The Farmers’ Dog crafts depends on technology, from when customers first interact with the brand and share information about their pets and their needs, to when they personalize the best fresh meal plan for a customer’s dog, to the software that runs our fulfillment centers for maximum efficiency.

The Farmer’s Dog is looking for a kind, confident, and fast-paced Senior Technical Program Manager that can help us realize our tech-enabled vision. As our first Technical Program Manager, you own the execution of large, cross-functional projects across our organization. You will come with standard methodologies and help us adapt while being forward-thinking in molding them to TFD’s culture and current state. You won’t expect things to be handed to you, but you’ll show us how to implement excellently.

Starting from working with stakeholders, you’ll develop the vital workstreams to carry projects to conclusion across both technical and non-technical partners. For example, you’ll work with partners in technology, product, manufacturing and operations to ensure a new type of product is ready for launch, while coordinating with all of the experts in other areas of our tech teams (Product, Design, and Engineering) to make sure the customer experience and systems are crafted to meet our goals.

You’ll anticipate bottlenecks, drive and handle critical issues, surface trade-off decisions, and be a gluing element between Engineering, Product Managers and other parts of the organization to balance business priorities vs technical constraints.

Most meaningfully, you’ll help us establish program management standard processes, because we don’t yet have them.

• Partner with engineering, product managers and other leaders across the business to carry key cross-functional projects to completion. Ensure that projects always deliver value and happiness to our customers
• Develop and own a comprehensive program plan including scheduling, cross - functional dependencies, and risk elements
• Accurately and honestly communicate status, progress and risks to all the program partners, including the leadership team
• Become a guide in TFD’s unique technology stack and systems, inclusive of external integration when appropriate
• Handle select vendor relationships
• Responsible for a deep technical understanding of our current systems and integrations with a focus on balanced, scalable solutions and ability to influence future design
• Thrive in ambiguity and change and make decisions with imperfect information
• Establish the practice of program management

• Have experience in a similar stage company. Ideally, you have also been part of a slightly larger company so you can save us from obvious mistakes.
• Can influence and rally teams together despite conflicting priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail and nothing slips by you
• Relentless in tactful follow ups to ensure accountability.
• Your passion is infectious and you earn the trust of the peers before expecting to be entrusted.
• Familiar with data and technologies to be able to speak competently with your business and technical team members
• Spot trade offs, bottlenecks, and have ideas early in the process
