Position Summary:

The Cognosos Devices Team is growing, and we are looking to add a Technical Program Manager function to lead multiple design teams for IoT hardware. This new function will initiate and run projects starting at requirements through mass manufacturing. This individual will be instrumental in expanding and refining our product development process, creating a lightweight and rapid system for deploying new devices and features. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to build a process that can scale, and gain experience only a rapidly growing start-up can offer.


Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple teams of firmware, software, hardware, mechanical and supply chain engineers all working towards the release of cutting edge wired, wireless, and battery powered IoT devices
  • Own the scope, schedule, implementation and tracking of device product development from start to finish
  • Set goals, track deliverables, manage expectations, identify risks, and drive mitigations across all stages of the development
  • Gather and refine product requirement scope and timelines together with Product Management, Device Engineering, Customer Success, and Supply Chain.
  • Map out and manage the teamโ€™s tasks in project management software systems, providing milestone and phase tracking to the PMO periodically
  • Manage rollout of field trials and fleet updates with cross functional team
  • Contribute to the development of internal product realization process with detailed documentation of design and quality steps, entry and exit criteria, change management, and team training
  • Possess a strong understanding of engineering and high-level data concepts
  • Demonstrate maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills
  • Must be a development driver and thought leader
  • Position is based in Midtown Atlanta with frequent in office meetings

Requirements

  • Experience as Program/Project Manager in product development environment
  • Experience with electronics hardware, firmware, and mechanical products
  • IoT, Controls, Metering, Wireless, Security or similar industry experience a plus
  • Level headed engineering mindset, combined with good sense of humor
  • BS Engineering/CS or equivalent experience
  • Various Project Management software expertise
  • 10+ years of experience in the above skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written & verbal
  • References from past team members
