Department Overview
The West Region Strategic Project Team works with customers across the Western US ranging from Texas in the East to Washington in the North and California in the South and all states in between. As a Technical Program Manager, you will help coordinate, plan, prioritize and execute projects within Motorola’s Software Deployment and Video Integration organization. You will be responsible for oversight of the technical software and infrastructure solution delivered in the region’s largest and most complex software deployments. Together with the Program Director, you will prioritize technical project deliverables, identify risks, create mitigation plans, set up project schedules, ensure orderly execution towards delivery, and most importantly focus on system and technical details, integration points and other system issues and scalability. You will be expected to provide insights and recommendations on technical decisions that will impact the successful outcome of the projects.Job Description
Under the direction of the West Region Program Director the Technical Project Manager will oversee the design, development and technical implementation of Motorola Solutions software products and services in specific projects that have a distinct beginning and end. Coordinates cross-functional technical teams, focused on delivering new or upgraded existing software solutions. Monitors the program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers and field-based employees on technical matters, as needed. Assigns and monitors work of the Solutions Architect and System Technologist staff, providing technical support and direction. Responsible for the final design and architecture of the software solution and the approval, submittal of all required documents. Leads project resources in the design, development, installation, configuration and testing of Motorola’s software and interfaced software/systems. Consult technical project resources in applying the principles of software engineering to help solve issues encountered during the deployment project. Oversees the technical delivery from inception to completion (or transition), including tracking and evaluation of project performance. Works closely with the Project Director to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and within accepted quality metrics. Participates in project review and status meetings, and communicates project status. Utilizes project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness. May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.
What we are looking for:Â
Understanding of API technologies, Software Architecture and Design, and System and Cloud Deployment
Strong understanding and practical hands-on experience on System Integration and Deployment
Demonstrated ability to work in an Agile environment to deliver customer value quickly
Make technical decisions on project scope based on technical / business tradeoffs and risk mitigation
Familiarity with Software deployment methodologies and Quality Process
Passion for delivering End-to-End solutions to customers with quality
Ability to work collaboratively with architects, engineers, technologists, business analysts and application specialists and report progress or risks to senior management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Additional Requirements:
Preferred Professional Engineer (P.E.) Certification
Project Management Qualifications such as PMP
Preferred 5+ years in a technical position overseeing software delivery
Must have 6+ years of project management experience managing complex deployments and/or software application deployments.
Must be a self-motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives.Â
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
This position is a remote position and candidates can be located anywhere in the US. It is preferred that candidates reside in the Western United States, particularly in California.

Basic Requirements
Bachelor Degree and 5+ years of Project Management or Solution Engineering experience.
OR 10+ years of Project Management or Solution Engineering experience.
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
