WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Technical Writer for our Washington, DC office to coordinate the development of quality documents for our transportation agency client. This position could also work remotely from Colorado Springs, CO or other WSP office locations. Compensation and Benefits:

Expected Salary: $76,400 - $155,900
This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.

Your Impact
- Technical writing for documentation and presentation materials for infrastructure and engineering projects ensuring that narrative is clear, understandable, cohesive, concise, and accessible to the intended audience.
- Ensuring accuracy and consistency in use of technical terms throughout a document or series of related documents and presenting technical jargon in a manner that is understood by the intended audience.
- QA/QC for clarity and consistency in grammar and style and final proof/copyediting/QC review prior to publication.
- Interact with client in a confident and professional manner.
- Remain current in latest technical writing techniques and practices.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or closely related discipline.
- 7 years of related experience in technical writing, quality management and quality documentation preferably for infrastructure planning and/or engineering projects.
- Experience organizing technical information to document standards, rules, SOPs, and handbooks.
- Experience working with controlled documentation with the ability to extract information from key stakeholders and communicate the information in written form.
- Highly proficient with technical writing and office automation including experience with SharePoint Library Management.
- Proficient use of Word, including use of Styles and Templates, and proficient use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- The ability to adhere to aggressive deadlines.
- The ability to work with client to ensure that content is captured accurately, thoroughly, concisely and consistently, throughout a document or series of documents.
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to express ideas effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities.
- Works independently with minimal oversight with strict adherence to QA/QC.
- Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
