Sr. Information Architect (Strong in Information Architecture)

SecurityScorecard is seeking an experienced Sr. Information Architect with a strong information architecture background to evaluate and recommend how multiple parts of the product become a cohesive experience as a whole. This position works cross functionally to understand our customers’ needs. He/she will evaluate the current platform and recommend on how to support usability and findability in our products. This position will report to the VP of Product Design & Research.

About the role:

• 5+ years of information architecture: organization, labeling, navigation and search systems
• Understands the methods and tools for creating taxonomies and metadata models, classification schemas.
• Fluent in creating sitemap, diagram flows, and content strategy
• Fluent in the methods and concepts related to findability and usability
• Optimizing current experience (broken window) and find opportunities to enhance it
• Partners with Product Designers, Other Researchers, Product Managers, Engineers and other stakeholder across SecurityScorecard to improve user experience and drive product excellence
• Drive the information architecture roadmap and process end-to-end from ideation to solution, (primarily using online tools) to understand user needs and emergent product opportunities
• Insights driven with an eye on metrics and company strategy

• Data Driven: you are responsible for discovering the data and analytics requirements for information architecture purposes

• Conduct usability studies: testing your hypotheses to support your architectural recommendations

• Fluent in Usability Methods: card sorting, mental models, contextual inquiry, scenarios
• Information Architecture, Pathfindings, Hierarchy: Creates, presents and maintains all information architecture deliverables, user scenarios, task flow diagrams, sitemap/navigation scheme/taxonomy.
• Goal oriented workflow: you map the user journey based on user jobs
• User focus: you naturally think about problems from the user’s point of view, and you are motivated to improve products for users.
• Agile: you balance methodological rigor with scrappiness and creativity
• Entrepreneurial spirit: as team moves fast, you unblock barriers in design and go-to-market

 Basic Qualifications 

• Minimum BS in one of the following: Cognitive Science / Library Science / Information Management / HCI or equivalent experience
• Had worked with SaaS companies or other complex digital properties
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Capability to apply research skills to new products and industries as well as to emerging markets
• Attention to detail and the ability to discover gaps in the platform
• Strong organizational skills, you have an eye for detail and are not afraid to use it!
• Strong communication skills — you clearly articulate your recommendations and decisions, whether verbal or written
• A learner’s mindset, receiving feedback positively as an opportunity to grow
• Low ego, curious and open-minded
