Description & Qualifications

Description• Handle events ranging from 50 or more• Ability to work well and build strong peer relationships with all levels of internal management and staff, outside clients and vendors by interacting effectively with tact, candor, diplomacy and confidentiality• Serve as liaison between primary event contact and production team • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential• Serves as an onsite planner for offsite events• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies• Solve problems and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements if necessary• Leads pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups• Identifies operational challenges associated with his/her group and works with the main group contact and production team to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions• Manages team budgets to maximize saving and meet team goals• Conducts pre- and post-event meetings as required to review/communicate group needs and feedback• Manages group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups• Adheres to all standards, policies, and procedures.• Accurately prioritizes work whenever possible and takes responsibility for quality of work • With limited supervision, consistently and accurately complete assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to anticipate and resolve issues• Interacts with teams to obtain feedback on quality and service levels• Handles team problems and complaints• Follows up with customer post-event• Strives to improve service performance• Coordinates and communicates verbally and in writing with team event details.• Additional tasks may apply

Qualifications• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major required.• Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail• Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and employees within the organization• Expert level written and verbal communication skills• Emotional maturity• Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently• Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment• Knowledge of various software programs such as Word, Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Concur, JIRA, Service Now and Cvent• Travel logistics• Flexible schedule (when needed) and ability to travel • 5+ years of Event Planning Experience• Experienced event planner for various group sizes• Team player: collaborative, seeks input, accepts and incorporates feedback from others and freely offers assistance• Prior contract, budgeting and planning experience are a strong plus
