Job Description

SSIS Senior Data Engineer Strong background in data engineering. This position requires using current Data warehouse technologies, design, test, plan, implement, maintain EDW databases.

The work you will do:

• Maintain existing SSIS/ADF pipelines.
• Work with senior developers to understand and acquire knowledge to support existing processes in EDW.
• Collaborates effectively with the development groups to deliver projects to the satisfaction of the client in a timely fashion.
• Designs and develops EDW processes and documentation, based on the requirements of the company. This includes collecting data, analyzing data, designing algorithms, drawing flowcharts and implementing code.
• Assist with code review.
• Write and deploy SQL code.
• Support existing steady state data ingestion pipelines.
• Ensure the distribution of knowledge for processes being designed and built within the team to ensure assigned jobs are completed accurately and according to schedule and that all deadlines are met.
• Ensure the design of sufficient documentation for easy and smooth hand-over of projects.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to identify and resolve performance issues, bottlenecks, and data anomalies.
• Monitor steady state recurring monthly data ingestion tasks.

The skills and qualifications you need:

• 12+years related experience in data engineering with bachelor’s degree; or a master’s degree with 3 years’ experience.
• Ability to architect simple and complex solutions related to integration with other applications and design.
• High attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and consistency throughout the ETL process.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience working under tight deadlines while maintaining high product relevance and quality.
• Strong advanced SQL skills: stored procedures, CTEs, cursors, database notifications and sql server agent
• Strong understanding of ETL process.
• Experience in data transformation tasks like data cleaning and aggregation.
• Proficiency in scripting languages used in SSIS, such as C#.
• Experience with Git for version control for managing SSIS packages.
• Proficiency in developing, deploying, and managing SSIS packages.
• Experience with various SSIS components like Data Flow Tasks, Control Flow Tasks, and Event Handlers.
• Knowledge of SSIS expressions and variables.
• 5 years’ experience working with SSIS ETL packages.
• Extensive experience with MS SQL stack. (SSIS and ADF)
• Nice to have: Databricks/Python experience.

Qualifications

These duties are too complex and specialized to be performable with a bachelor’s degree related to computer science or computer information systems or information technology.
