Staff Accountant

Summary: Reporting to the Accounting Operations Manager, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting including general ledger account reconciliations, preparation of journal entries, and ad hoc tasks. The Staff Accountant will also assist the Accounting Manager with similar responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Residential Loan Accounting:
  
  • Prepare month end journal entries to capture loan activity
  • Reconcile all related balance sheet accounts and internal bank accounts
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as needed
• Loan sale accounting and reporting.
• Preparation of loan charge off and recovery reports.
• Track and reconcile interest for loans.
• Assist in the preparation of various loan related Call Report schedules.
• Reconcile various general ledger accounts.
• Assist Accounting team members.
• Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures related to accounting.
• Other responsibilities and various special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, but not necessary.
• Banking/financial services experience a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all different levels of an organization.
• Ability to execute and follow-through on assigned responsibilities.
• Excellent organizational and inter-personal skills.
