Staff Accountant

BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose of the Staff Accountant position is to analyze systems, processes, and reports to ensure accurate accounting for retread & distribution operations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine duties as needed to support accounting operations.
• Analyze warehouse inventory movements and communicate with distribution center management to make corrections.
• Assist Accounting Supervisor and Procurement Leads as needed on supply chain management.
• Assist Distribution Center Operations by monitoring & enforcing cycle count compliance.
• Monitor weekly reports and trouble-shoot accounting errors.
• Communicate and work with operational management and Accounting Supervisor on research questions.
• Make independent decision and recommendations regarding journal entries, reconciliations and work paper analysis.
• Use discretion and independent judgment in developing enhancements to the efficiency and effectiveness of systems and processes.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or Supply Chain Management required
  • Eligibility for CPA certification preferred
• Experience:
  • 1-3 years relevant work experience preferred

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Skills:
  • Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong emphasis on Excel
  • Soft Skills: Strong oral and verbal communication skills; ability to perform and make decisions under pressure and strict deadlines; excellent time management skills; detail oriented; ability to multitask and be a team player
• Typical Physical Demands:
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
