Job Description

The Staff Accountant reports to the Treasury Manager and will be responsible for accounting and treasury activities surrounding fixed assets, leases, and general ledger accounting for certain holding companies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with accounts payable processing for certain vendors and responsible entities.
  • Process accounting and payments for leases through our lease accounting software, including month end journal entries, summary reporting of lease transactions and outstanding leases, and review of programs for all departments.
  • Prepare monthly capex spending summary, capital expenditure roll forward and monthly status update of spending on the Approved Capex Projects.
  • Prepare Capital Appropriate requests for fixed asset projects as necessary.
  • Responsible for fixed asset subledger data entry including summary of assets place in service, disposal, fixed asset inventory and location management for US GAAP and Tax purposes.
  • Facilitate and complete monthly accounting close procedures for certain holding company and portfolio companies accounting.
  • Assist with external audit preparation, including providing and reviewing schedules and support with a focus on fixed assets and leases.
  • Prepare information for the domestic tax returns as required by the Finance Director of Tax.
  • Assist and support the FP&A team in preparation of the Budget and forecast.
  • Supporting in special projects as they arise such as M&A due diligence, business combinations, ERP implementation, etc.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
  • Document, research and draft accounting policies and procedures, and implement changes related to new accounting policies.
  • Other projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong understanding of accounting under USGAAP
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Previous experience utilizing an ERP system a plus.
  • Public accounting, consumer products, or retail operations accounting experience preferred.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus, MUST be fluent in English.
  • Ability to act and operate independently and work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and interact with computers, telephone and other electronic media.
  • Must possess visual acuity to document company records.
  • Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend.
