Job Description

SchoolMint is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. The Staff Accountant will work on a team with diverse backgrounds, operating in a fast-paced, and team-oriented environment.

This position will be responsible for maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Prepares balance sheets, profit, and loss statements, and other financial reports. Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.

What You Will Do

• Ensure financial data integrity by reconciling data between multiple data sources
• Review transactions to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and to the proper cost centers; analyze and research variances
• Prepare journal entries
• Maintain and update balance sheet reconciliation and supporting schedules such as bank, fixed assets, prepaid, accruals, insurance benefits, etc
• Reconcile and file sales taxes
• Assist with month-end and year-end close
• Assist with the interim and annual audits
• Other duties as assigned

About You

• 2+ years of Accounting/Finance experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment, and a quick learner
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business/Finance required
• Solid grasp of US GAAP
• Good Excel skills and experience with Google Sheets are a plus
• Strong analytical and communication (oral and written) skills
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
• SaaS, ASC606, and ASC842 experience (Bonus)
• Experience in Sage Intacct, Salesforce, and Google Suite products (Bonus)
