Staff Accountant

If so, Copart would like to talk with you. We currently have a great opportunity available in our Dallas Headquarters office for a Staff Accountant.

The position is responsible for reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts, including interacting with domestic and international accounting groups to maintain intercompany transactions; monthly journal entries including processing payroll for our U.S. and Canada facilities, cost allocations, and amortization of prepaid expenses; and internal reporting duties. In addition, you will assist with the preparation of our consolidated quarterly and annual SEC filings and other internal financial reports. The position may provide future growth potential within accounting and other corporate departments.

Requirements:

• Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Excellent computer skills including Excel (advanced Excel skills a plus), Word, Access, and Outlook
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment
• Demonstrable strategic thinking, influencing, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong follow-up skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong customer service orientation, a team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships

Required Skills and Experience:

• Possess good verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a Bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in accounting
• Prefer one to five years of relevant accounting experience
• Will consider recent college graduates
