Staff Accountant

What You Will Contribute to Altos

As a member of the Finance Team, the Staff Accountant will have a critical role helping manage day-to-day accounting operations. You will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and results-driven and have a major impact on the way processes are built and implemented to support the company’s significant growth trajectory. This role will routinely partner with others across multiple functions ensuring proper alignment with policies and controls for financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP. 

Responsibilities

• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis for assigned accounts, identifying and resolving any differences within the close period. Reconciliations must be accurate, and complete.
• Perform monthly GL accounting close tasks, including but not limited to preparing journal entries for assigned areas that may include cash, allocation, and employee expenses, providing support that is organized, accurate, and descriptive.
• Manage Concur Time & Expense activities and corporate credit card administration activities.
• Assist with Fixed Assets Accounting including inquiries with internal stakeholders on assets status updates and help maintain Fixed Assets Clearing and CIP accounts roll-forward and prepare monthly addition, disposal, and depreciation entries.
• Assist with requests for external audit, tax returns, etc.
• Assist with ERP Implementation.
• Provide ad hoc reporting and assistance with projects as needed.

Who You Are

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Highly proficient with Adobe and Microsoft Office applications including Excel
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to the team
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize/balance multiple tasks to meet team goals and deadlines
• Attentive to accuracy and detail, strong belief in personal responsibility and accountability, ability to problem solve and find solutions
• Willingness to contribute beyond the defined role to meet team needs as circumstance requires

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• Big 4 background preferred, CPA a plus
• Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Bill.com, Point Purchasing, etc.
• Experience working in the biotech, pharmaceutical or related industry
• Experience working in a start-up environment
