Staff Accountant

Job Description

Raymond Westis currently looking for a sharpStaff Accountantto join our passionate team! The Staff Accountant is responsible for accurately maintaining the general ledgers of the company in addition to supporting the Finance Management in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance / Accounting Department.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Audit reconcile various commissions
• Calculate Payroll Accruals
• Capital Lease initiation and reconciliation
• Fixed Asset Control
• Verification of job costing accuracy
• Calculation and remittance of various taxes and license fees
• Bank reconciliations
• Prepare month-end journal entries for financial statement reporting
• Special accounting, financial or administrative projects as determined by Finance Management

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a thorough understanding of the theory of accounting principles and an aptitude for working with financial and statistical data.
• Must have the ability to reconcile and maintain the integrity of the general ledger through analysis and research.
• Must possess organizational skills.
• Be able to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees and managers in other departments.
• Be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate.
• Be able to communicate with all levels of employees, customers, and manufacturers both verbally and in writing.
• Possess strong business math skills.
• Possess effective listening and questioning skills.
• Present a clean, neat professional appearance.
• Be able to manage time effectively.
• Maintain a professional attitude in all matters.
• Be willing and able to learn quickly and perform accurately and neatly with a degree of flexibility.
• Motivated to continuous self-development and training.
• Willing to assume more responsibility as required.
• Self-confident and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Willing to comply with the associate handbook.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent related work experience.
• Knowledgeable using Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and proficient in Excel
