Staff Accountant
Tenet3 is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join our team in Dayton, Ohio. As a key member of the Operations team, you will directly impact the success and growth of Tenet3.Â
As an ideal candidate for this role, you will have experience and knowledge of government contracting accounting practices as well as GAAP.  You will be a key team member in responding to taskings from the President, Operations Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, and Director of Programs. Your work will address internal and external reporting requirements, supporting audit processes, accounting policies, tax and other statutory filings, and accounting practices.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Apply general accounting and government contracting compliance knowledge and skills to perform routine and non-routine tasks involving the accounting and reconciliation of receivables, billing, payroll, accounts payable, contract revenue calculations, contract cost accumulation and reporting, indirect rate calculations, fixed assets, general ledger, preparing financial statements, and supporting compliance audits.
- Apply knowledge of GAAP and FAR/DFAR regulations to employee and subcontractor travel and expense reporting and compliance processes.
- Collaborate with teammates to facilitate and contribute to responsive, efficient, and effective solutions to taskers.
- Ability to produce readable, concise and accurate documentation.
- Participate in monthly closing process by ensuring that reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals are properly and accurately accounted for in the appropriate periods.
- Prepare monthly financials and financial analysis thoroughly and accurately.
- Provide management with accurate and timely financial information for decision making purposes.
- Assist with government contract accounting compliance requirements as needed, including incurred cost submission, provisional billing rate submission, DCAA audit.
- Support regular reviews with external auditors.
- Maintain reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts.
- Comply with local, state and federal government tax requirements and tax filings.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- 4 - 7 years of accounting experience.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct financial analyses.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly including advanced Excel functions.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve set deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with a respectful, positive, professional presentation style.
- Ability to effectively present information and provide timely, reliable, courteous service to internal and external customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong initiative, work ethic, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Desired/Preferred Skills:
- Experience and knowledge of government/DoD contract accounting practices.
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP, FAR, & DFARS procedures and standards.
- Experience with a variety of accounting system software e.g. Quickbooks, Unanet, and/or Deltek.
