As a member of this team, you will help scale accounting processes for our fast-growing organization. You will be responsible for developing policies and procedures around vendor procurements, overseeing accounts payable, providing a depth of knowledge about tax accounting and payroll accounting. Success in this role will come from strict attention to detail around financial compliance and data validation as well as striving to improve our processes to support our business growth.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Prepare account reconciliations
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Manage the vendor procurement process, including developing procurement policies and procedures
• Oversee accounts payable processes, especially in conjunction with vendor procurement
• Responsible for international accounting and related compliance for our UK office
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws on tax accounting
• Manage state tax agency accounts and notices, including opening new tax accounts in states as needed
• Validate financial data, review financial statements, and manage financial reporting
• May prepare, process, and validate payroll for employees, including the administration of employee pay data
• Assist with external audits as needed
• Perform general accounting and other related duties for the organization
• Assist the accounting manager with projects as needed

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Two (3) to five (5) plus years of work experience in accounting
• Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles)
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and proficiency with other products in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with accounting software (NetSuite preferred)
• Excellent organizational and communications skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Experience with payroll accounting preferred
• Knowledge of or experience with international accounting preferred
• Knowledge of tax accounting as well as federal, state, and local tax regulations and processes is a plus
• Experience with scaling payroll or accounting processes for mergers and acquisitions is a plus
