We're excited to continue solidifying that foundation as we are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing team in a hybrid role in Tampa, Florida.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Lead, support, and complete all facets of vendor payables process for specific profit centers on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
• Complete tasks associated with the premium accounting transaction cycle. Learn all accounting aspects of the agency management financial reporting systems.
• Learn and complete all tasks associated with financial accounting, - including but not limited to transactional accounting, month end close process, and development of internal control policies and procedures.
• Assist with month-end close activities as required.

  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Account Reconciliations
  • Other functions as assigned.
• Master all corporate guidelines including the Brown & Brown Accounting Guidelines.
• Promote teamwork, support, knowledge sharing and a positive attitude in the department and office.
• Participate in training opportunities to remain current on industry information, new product development, legislation, coverages, and technology including professional development and continuing education.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Proficient with MS Office Suite Products (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Industry software experience a plus
• Insurance background a plus
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Good analytical abilities.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
