Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant will perform a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping support functions in an organization. The Staff Accountant will be a member of the Finance Department whose leaders are Certified Public accountants.

Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor's in Accounting
  • 5-7 years accounts payable and general accounting experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting software, NetSuite a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  2. Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
  3. Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  4. Assists in month end reporting procedures.
  5. Receives invoices and forwards to appropriate personnel for approval in NetSuite.
  6. Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries.
  7. Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
  8. Analyzes discrepancies and unpaid invoices.
  9. Handles vendor correspondence via phone or email.
  10. Maintains vendor profiles by verifying federal id numbers, W9 forms and contracts.
  11. Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports.
  12. Prepares check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions. Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions. Process remittance information from checks, drafts and wire transfers for invoices provided by vendors, reviewing instructions accompanying items to determine proper disposition and crediting accounts in accordance with standard procedures.
  13. Assists with monthly status reports, and monthly closings.
  14. Assists with Ad Hoc reporting.
  15. Performs filing and general administrative tasks.
  16. Performs other duties as required to support the Finance Department.
  17. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  18. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  19. Assists in 1099 and unclaimed property (escheatment) filing process.

WORK SCHEDULE:

As a continued effort to provide a safe and productive work environment, Community Care Plan is currently following a hybrid work schedule. Staff are able to work from home 3 days a week and will report to the office 2 days a week. *****The company reserves the right to change the work schedules based on the company needs.
