Hungryroot is looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance & Accounting team. This person will report to our Accounting Manager and will support critical core activities such as month-end close procedures, account reconciliations, financial reporting and external audits. This role will have extensive business operations exposure, from day-to-day financial transactions to cross-departmental projects.

• Perform bank reconciliations and support treasury management and reporting
• Prepare journal entries and document support for various financial statement line items including cash, revenue recognition, credit cards, payroll, prepaids and fixed assets
• Compile balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and work cross-functionally to resolve issues swiftly
• Manage the Company employee expense reimbursement and credit card reporting platform and support employees as the primary finance point of contact
• Liaise with critical vendor contacts to support various rebates and credits
• Engage with Financial Planning & Analysis team to contribute to budget and forecast cycles across the Balance Sheet and P&L
• Support Controller to facilitate monthly sales and income tax reporting
• Assist with preparation of the audited financial statements and coordination of supporting documentation for audit requests

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field required
• Proficient knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• 2-3 years experience in a related finance and/or accounting role
• E-commerce, CPG, DTC and/or inventory accounting experience preferred
• NetSuite ERP experience is a plus
• Ability to work both independently and with a collaborative team
• Proactive self-starter with strong time management skills and attention to detail
• Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
