The Mission
We are seeking a talented Staff Accountant to join our growing Accounting & Finance team. The right candidate is someone who.
- Experienced accountant with a highly analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Great work ethic and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing startup environment.
- Has a “can-do” attitude and is willing to take on ad-hoc tasks and challenges when needed.
- Desire to improve reporting process and has experience implementing and operationalizing accounting systems and processes.
- A collaborative spirit with excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Your Assignment
- Oversee accounts receivables, customer onboarding and collections.
- Maintaining documentation for accounts payable and vendor and state agencies records.
- Employee Benefits Reconciliation.
- Maintain General Ledger Accounts postings.
- Review monthly bank reconciliations.
- Oversee Monthly Credit Card Statements for both US and Canada Entities.
- Customer Communication and Collections.
- Expense Reports Review using Expensify.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Director of Accounting.
Your Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 2+ years of experience in General Accounting within small to medium size companies.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP (Active or inactive CPA a plus, but not required).
- Previous B2B and startup experience preferred.
- Experience with QuickBooks or ERP systems is a plus.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Excel / Google Sheets analysis and presentation skills.
